Do electric radiators need plumbing?

No. They are filled and sealed at the factory and heat their own fluid with an internal element, so all they need is an electrical connection. That is what makes them straightforward to add to a room with no pipework.

Are electric radiators expensive to run?

Electricity costs more per unit of heat than gas, so an electric radiator running all day in a large room will cost more than a wet radiator. Used the way they are meant to be — one room, on a schedule, instead of heating the whole house — they often work out cheaper overall.

Can I control them remotely?

These are smart models with app control as well as an onboard thermostat, so you can set schedules and adjust the temperature without being in the room.
