Vertical radiators
A vertical radiator turns unused height into heat. Because it takes up so little width, it leaves the longer walls free for furniture, units and doors, which is why vertical designs have become a go-to choice for kitchens, hallways and open-plan spaces.
Where a vertical radiator works best
Think narrow strips of wall: between a door and a corner, beside a window, in an alcove or at the end of a run of kitchen units. A tall radiator also makes a strong feature on a chimney breast or a long, plain wall.
Getting the size right
Measure the height you have available, leaving room below for the pipes and valves, then check the output against what the room needs. A taller or wider radiator gives out more heat, and a double panel gives out more than a single panel of the same size. If the pipes are already in place, check whether the radiator connects underneath or at the sides before you choose.
Valves for vertical radiators
Where the pipes come up through the floor, angled valves suit side connections and straight valves suit connections underneath the radiator. Pipes coming out of the wall need corner valves.
Need something wider for under a window? See our horizontal radiators, or shop by colour in anthracite, black or white.
