Traditional Angled Radiator Valves with Wood-Effect Heads (Pair) – Brushed Brass
Radiator valves
Every radiator and heated towel rail needs a pair of valves: one to control the heat and one to balance the system. Choosing the right type comes down to where your pipes come from, so check that first and the rest is easy.
Which valve type do I need?
Angled valves are for pipes that rise from the floor into a connection on the side of the radiator, the most common set-up in UK homes. Straight valves are for pipes that line up with the connection, such as floor pipes into a radiator or towel rail that connects underneath. Corner valves are for pipes that come straight out of the wall, turning the corner so the valve sits neatly against it.
Thermostatic or manual?
A manual valve turns the radiator on, off or somewhere in between. A thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) senses the temperature in the room and adjusts the flow of hot water to hold the setting you choose, so each room stays comfortable without wasting energy.
Control valve and lockshield
Valves are usually sold in pairs. The control valve, manual or thermostatic, goes on one side and the lockshield on the other. Your installer sets the lockshield once to balance the heating so every radiator warms up evenly, and it is then left alone.
Will they fit my pipes?
Standard radiator valves connect to 15mm copper pipe, with a ½" BSP thread into the radiator. Microbore pipe (8mm or 10mm) needs adaptors. Central connection towel rails need a dedicated central valve set rather than standard side valves. Pick a finish to match your radiators or heated towel rail.
