Traditional Radiator Valves

Traditional 15mm radiator valves in matching pairs, with cross head handles or wood-effect heads, in chrome, brushed brass and antique brass. The valve is the one part of a period radiator installation people forget, and a modern cylindrical TRV under a column radiator undoes the whole look.

Cross head valves suit a Victorian or Edwardian scheme, and the wood-effect heads work particularly well against a painted cast iron radiator. Angled versions are available for pipework coming out of the wall, which is the usual arrangement in an older house.

Frequently asked questions

Will traditional valves fit a modern radiator?

Yes — the connection is standard 15mm regardless of the handle style, so a cross head valve fits a modern panel radiator perfectly well. It is purely an appearance decision.

Are cross head valves thermostatic?

Some are manual and some are thermostatic; check the individual product page. A traditional appearance does not rule out a thermostatic head.
