This chrome designer TRV twin pack contains a thermostatic radiator valve with 6 heat settings plus frost protection, and a matching lockshield valve. The bi-directional body can be fitted on either side of the radiator.

Polished chrome is the finish that goes with everything. It bounces light around the room, wipes clean in seconds and sits comfortably next to white sanitaryware and almost any tile.

Frequently asked questions

Angled, straight or corner?
Use straight valves when the pipes come up from the floor directly under the radiator connection, angled valves when pipes come from the floor or the wall and need to turn into the radiator, and corner valves when the pipes come straight out of the wall.

What is the lockshield for?
The lockshield goes on the other end of the radiator and is used to balance the heating system, so every radiator heats up evenly.

How do I hide the pipes?
Finish the job with matching 15mm pipe sleeves and rosettes.

Valves come in pairs. One controls the heat and one (the lockshield) balances the system. A pair does one radiator.
Pipe size. Most UK homes use 15mm pipe; older or microbore systems use 8 or 10mm and need an adaptor.
Thermostatic or manual. Thermostatic valves (TRVs) hold the room at the temperature you set. In the room with the wall thermostat, use manual valves.

Questions people ask

Which valve do I need?

Pipe and radiator inlet in a straight line: straight valve. Pipe coming up from the floor into a side inlet: angled valve. Pipe coming out of the wall into a side inlet: corner valve.

Do valves come as a pair?

The listing says whether it's a pair or a single valve. A radiator needs two: one on the flow and one lockshield on the return.

Microbore or 15mm?

Most UK systems use 15mm copper pipe. Older systems may use 8mm or 10mm microbore, so measure your pipe and use reducers if needed.

Do I need a TRV on every radiator?

Thermostatic valves are recommended on most radiators. The room with your main thermostat usually has a manual valve instead.
