A vertical chrome ladder rail at 800x400mm, the Lumaoval uses 22mm round tube — the classic towel rail shape, and the easiest to hang a bath sheet over. Output is 1,200 BTU (350W) at ΔT50, the rating UK merchants normally quote.
Plumbing is standard: 1/2" inlets and outlets, plus a pair of 15mm valves.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit a narrow wall?
Yes — 400mm is narrow enough for most awkward walls. The height is where it takes its space: 800mm, so check you have headroom above the skirting and below any shelf or cabinet.
How does it compare with the other Lumaoval sizes?
Lumaoval comes in 25 sizes, from 800x400mm at 1,200 BTU up to 1600x600mm at 2,700 BTU. This is the smallest of them, so if 1,200 BTU is short for your room there is plenty of headroom above it.
Which radiator valves go with it?
Valves are separate. Angled where your pipes come out of the wall, straight where they come up from the floor. The connections are 1/2" BSP and take a standard pair of 15mm valves — in chrome if you want them to disappear against the rail.
How long is the guarantee?
5 years against manufacturing defects on this Lumaoval. Keep your order number; that is all we need to process a claim.

Help choosing
A towel rail should keep the bathroom warm, not just dry towels. Check it's powerful enough for the room.
Enter your room size to see the heat output you need.
- Match the output to the room. Use the BTU figure from the calculator. In a bathroom, a towel rail alone often heats a small room; bigger rooms may need a radiator too.
- Check your connections. Measure the gap between your pipes and choose valves to suit: angled, straight or corner (see the valve helper on our valve pages).
- Heat pump? At the lower water temperatures heat pumps run at, expect roughly half the listed output.
- Summer use. Central heating rails only warm up when the heating is on. A dual fuel kit adds an electric element where the rail supports it.
Still not sure? Send us your measurements and we'll check for you.
