This black Lumaoval measures 1400x500mm and mounts vertically. Round tube bars give towels air on both sides, so they dry faster than they would folded over a flat face. At ΔT50 it puts out 2,050 BTU (600W); on a lower flow temperature expect less.
Plumbing is standard: 1/2" inlets and outlets, plus a pair of 15mm valves.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit a narrow wall?
At 500mm across and 1400mm tall it is designed for tall, narrow wall space. Measure 500mm plus a little either side for your hands, and allow about 100mm underneath for the valve tails.
How does it compare with the other Lumaoval sizes?
The Lumaoval range runs from 800x400mm at 1,200 BTU to 1600x600mm at 2,700 BTU, in 25 sizes. This one is 1400x500mm and 2,050 BTU, so there is a smaller and a larger option either side of it.
Are valves included?
Valves are separate. Angled where your pipes come out of the wall, straight where they come up from the floor. The connections are 1/2" BSP and take a standard pair of 15mm valves — in black if you want them to disappear against the rail.
Will the finish mark?
Powder coating is hard wearing and handles steam well. Clean the black finish with warm water and a soft cloth — no scouring pads, and nothing with bleach in it.

Help choosing
A towel rail should keep the bathroom warm, not just dry towels. Check it's powerful enough for the room.
Enter your room size to see the heat output you need.
- Match the output to the room. Use the BTU figure from the calculator. In a bathroom, a towel rail alone often heats a small room; bigger rooms may need a radiator too.
- Check your connections. Measure the gap between your pipes and choose valves to suit: angled, straight or corner (see the valve helper on our valve pages).
- Heat pump? At the lower water temperatures heat pumps run at, expect roughly half the listed output.
- Summer use. Central heating rails only warm up when the heating is on. A dual fuel kit adds an electric element where the rail supports it.
Still not sure? Send us your measurements and we'll check for you.
