A vertical black ladder rail at 800x400mm, the Lumaoval uses 22mm round tube — the classic towel rail shape, and the easiest to hang a bath sheet over. Heat output is 1,250 BTU at ΔT50 — 370W in metric.

Connections are 1/2" BSP and it needs a pair of 15mm valves, sold separately.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit a narrow wall?

It is 400mm wide, so it will go where a conventional radiator will not — between a door and a basin, or on the short return wall of an en-suite. Leave roughly 30mm behind it for the brackets and another 100mm below for the valves.

Are valves included?

You need one pair of 15mm valves. Match the finish to the rail — we stock them in black — and choose angled or straight depending on where your pipes come from.

Will the finish mark?

The black finish is powder coated and tested to over 200 hours of salt spray, so bathroom humidity is not a problem. Wipe it with a damp cloth; avoid bleach and abrasive creams, which dull a matt coat faster than a gloss one.

How long is the guarantee?

5 years against manufacturing defects on this Lumaoval. Keep your order number; that is all we need to process a claim.

How much heat does your room need?

Match the output to the room. Use the BTU figure from the calculator. In a bathroom, a towel rail alone often heats a small room; bigger rooms may need a radiator too.
Check your connections. Measure the gap between your pipes and choose valves to suit: angled, straight or corner (see the valve helper on our valve pages).
Heat pump? At the lower water temperatures heat pumps run at, expect roughly half the listed output.
Summer use. Central heating rails only warm up when the heating is on. A dual fuel kit adds an electric element where the rail supports it.

Questions people ask

What does BTU mean?

BTU (British Thermal Units) is the heat output. The higher the figure, the more heat it gives. Use the calculator under Help choosing to see what your room needs. Outputs are quoted at ΔT50.

Which valves do I need?

Match the valve to how your pipe meets the rail: pipe and inlet in a straight line needs a straight valve, a pipe coming up from the floor into a side inlet needs an angled valve, and a pipe from the wall into a side inlet needs a corner valve. Valves aren't included unless stated.

Can I use it in summer?

A central-heating-only rail warms up only when your heating is on. A dual fuel rail with an electric element can run on its own. Check the heating type in the Specification tab, as not every rail can be converted.

What size rail do I need?

Check the heat output in the Specification tab. As a towel warmer any size works; if the rail is the room's only heat source, make sure the output covers the room, or message us and we'll help.

Will it match my brushed brass taps?
