Ocean Onyx White Polished Porcelain 60x120cm Wall & Floor Tile

Looking for large white bathroom tiles with a genuinely light-filled, luxurious finish? Ocean Onyx White brings the flowing, translucent character of natural white onyx to a hard-wearing vitrified porcelain body. At 60x120cm each tile covers 0.72m², so a shower wall reads as continuous stone rather than a grid of tiles — which is what separates a bathroom that looks tiled from one that looks quarried.

  • Size: 60x120cm (600x1200mm) large format porcelain
  • Finish: Super polished, onyx effect
  • Colour: White with soft tonal banding
  • Thickness: 9mm
  • Rectified edges — machine cut for a tight 1.5–2mm joint
  • 4 different tile faces, so veining varies across a run
  • 2 tiles per box, covering 1.44m²
  • Water absorption under 0.5% — no sealing needed on the tile body
  • Walls and floors, and suitable over underfloor heating
  • Sold per square metre — samples available

Why the large format matters

White is the colour that suffers most from grout lines. A white 30x60cm wall reads as a grid first and a wall second; at 60x120cm the joints all but disappear. The rectified edge is what makes that possible — every tile is machine cut to an identical size after firing, so the joint can close to 1.5–2mm instead of the 3mm a pressed-edge tile needs.

Where it works

Bathroom walls and floors, spa-style shower surrounds, feature walls, kitchen floors and splashbacks, hallways and open-plan living spaces. Pairs well with brushed brass, polished chrome or matt black fittings. For a monochrome scheme, run it against the Onyx Black Pulido 60x120cm in the same format.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many boxes do I need?
Each box holds 2 tiles and covers 1.44m². Measure your area, add 10% for cuts and wastage, then divide by 1.44 and round up. The calculator above does it for you — and ordering in one go means everything comes from the same batch.

Can I use it on a shower floor?
On the walls, yes. Not on a shower tray or wet room floor — a super polished surface is slippery once wet. Pair it with a matt or textured tile in the tray area.

Will a white polished floor show every mark?
Less than a dark polish does. The soft banding breaks up reflections, so dust and footprints are far less obvious than on a plain gloss white. A microfibre mop and a pH-neutral cleaner is all it needs — avoid acidic descalers, which attack grout rather than tile.

Does it need sealing?
No. At under 0.5% water absorption the porcelain body is effectively non-porous. Only the grout lines benefit from sealing.

What preparation does a 60x120cm tile need?
A flat, stable substrate, a large-format adhesive, back-buttering for full coverage and a levelling clip system. At this size a 1mm lip between tiles is visible on a wall and you can feel it underfoot on a floor.

Order a sample first

Whites vary more than people expect, and a polished surface behaves differently under your own lighting than it does on a screen. Order a cut sample or the larger 20x50cm piece — the cost is credited back against your full order, so sampling effectively costs you nothing.

How do I measure my room for tiles?
Measure the length and width of the room and multiply them together to get the square meterage. We recommend adding 10% for cuts and wastage.
Are these tiles suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes, most of our porcelain and ceramic tiles are suitable for underfloor heating. Please check the 'Product Details' tab for specific confirmation on this product.
Do I need to seal these tiles?
Porcelain and glazed ceramic tiles do not require sealing. Natural stone and some unglazed tiles may require sealing before and after grouting.
