Ivory Pearl Onyx Effect Polished Porcelain 60x120cm Wall & Floor Tile
Our best-selling onyx. A warm ivory ground with flowing pearl and pale honey veining, mechanically polished to a mirror finish so it throws light the way real onyx does. At 60x120cm there are fewer grout lines than a square tile, which is what makes a bathroom or hallway read as one continuous sheet of stone rather than a grid.

Where it works
Bathroom walls, feature walls, hallway and open-plan floors. Polished porcelain is at its best on walls and on dry floors, where the shine does the work; for a shower floor or a wet room, use the 60x60 matt and keep this one on the walls. The warm ivory tone sits comfortably with brushed brass, oak and warm whites, and holds its own against matt black if you want the contrast.
Laying a 60x120
Large format needs a flat substrate and a levelling system. Back-butter fully, aim for 95% adhesive coverage, and work to a 2–3mm joint in a light grey or warm white grout. Stagger the bond no more than a third of the tile length — a half-brick offset on a 1200mm tile exaggerates any bow in the tile and shows as lippage.
Frequently asked questions
Is it slippery underfoot?
It is rated R9, which is normal for a polished porcelain and fine for a dry floor. It is not the right choice for a shower floor or a wet room floor — use the matt 60x60 there.
How does the 60x60 compare?
Same print and colour family. The 60x120 is mechanically polished; the 60x60 comes in a glazed gloss and a matt. They are designed to be mixed — this on the walls, the matt on the floor.
Does it need sealing?
No. It is glazed porcelain with water absorption under 0.5%, so it is non-porous. Clean it with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft mop; avoid abrasive creams, which dull a polished face over time.
Can I use it outside?
No. This is an indoor tile. A polished face is unsuitable outdoors in UK weather.
How much should I order?
Measure the area and add 10% for cuts and wastage. Each box covers 1.44m², and the tile is sold by the square metre.

- Check where it can go. Floors need a tile rated for floors. In showers and wet rooms, a matt or anti-slip finish is safer underfoot than polished.
- Measure and add 10%. Length x width for each area, added together, plus 10% for cuts and breakage (15% for herringbone or diagonal layouts). The calculator above does this for you.
- Pick your joint. This tile is rectified (precision-cut edges), so a slim 2mm joint gives a near-seamless look. Large tiles need a flat surface; levelling clips help.
- Order it all together. Tiles are made in batches that can vary slightly in shade, so buy the full amount in one order.
