Rodas Onyx White Marble Effect Polished Porcelain 60x60cm Wall & Floor Tile

Made in Spain by Pamesa, Rodas White in 60x60cm is the workhorse of the range — a clean white ground with soft grey veining, polished to a mirror, in the size most people choose for floors. It reflects a remarkable amount of light back into a room, which is what makes it the default for hallways and small bathrooms. The 10.5mm body is more substantial than most 60x60cm porcelain sold in the UK.

Where it works

Hallways, kitchens, open-plan living areas, dry bathroom floors and full-height walls. Running the same tile up a wall and across the floor is the single most effective way to make a small bathroom feel larger.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many boxes do I need?
Each box holds 4 tiles and covers 1.44m². Measure the area, add roughly 10% for cuts and breakages, then divide by 1.44 — a 12m² kitchen floor comes out at 9 boxes.

Will a white polished floor show every mark?
Less than a dark polish does. The veining breaks up reflections so dust and footprints are far less obvious than on a plain gloss white. A microfibre mop and a pH-neutral cleaner is all it needs.

Is it suitable over underfloor heating?
Yes, both water and electric systems, using a flexible adhesive and the correct commissioning cycle.

Does polished porcelain need sealing?
No. The body is dense and non-porous — only the grout joints need looking after. Avoid acidic descalers, which attack grout rather than tile.

  1. Check where it can go. Floors need a tile rated for floors. In showers and wet rooms, a matt or anti-slip finish is safer underfoot than polished.
  2. Measure and add 10%. Length x width for each area, added together, plus 10% for cuts and breakage (15% for herringbone or diagonal layouts). The calculator above does this for you.
  3. Pick your joint. This tile is rectified (precision-cut edges), so a slim 2mm joint gives a near-seamless look. Large tiles need a flat surface; levelling clips help.
  4. Order it all together. Tiles are made in batches that can vary slightly in shade, so buy the full amount in one order.
  5. See it first. Order a sample to check the colour and finish in your own light.

Questions people ask

Can I use this tile on the floor?
Yes, it's made for floors and walls. In showers and wet rooms a matt or anti-slip finish is safer underfoot than polished.
Is it suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes. Use a flexible adhesive and let the heating come up to temperature slowly the first time.
How many tiles do I need?
Measure the length and width of each area, multiply, and add the areas together. Add 10% for cuts and breakage, or 15% for herringbone and diagonal layouts. Type your area into the calculator above and it does the maths for you.
Which adhesive and grout should I use?
Porcelain needs a flexible cement-based adhesive (S1). Large tiles need a thicker, solid bed. The tiling kit above picks the right products and works out how much you need.
What does rectified mean?
Rectified tiles are cut to exact size after firing, so they can be laid with slim 2mm joints for a near-seamless look. This tile is rectified.
Do I need to seal these tiles?
No. Glazed porcelain and ceramic tiles don't need sealing. A grout sealer helps keep light grout clean.
Will the colour match the photos?
Screens show colours differently, so order a sample to see it in your own light. Tiles can vary slightly from batch to batch, so order the full amount in one go.
