Rodas Onyx Blue Effect Polished Porcelain 60x120cm Wall & Floor Tile

Made in Spain by Pamesa, Rodas Onyx Blue is the statement tile of the range. Deep blue onyx veining runs across a mirror-polished face, and at 60x120cm each tile covers 0.72m² — enough for the pattern to move across a wall as it would through real stone rather than repeating every few hundred millimetres. The 10.5mm body is heavier than most large format porcelain on the UK market.

Why 60x120cm

A dark, heavily veined tile is the one that most needs scale. In a small format, blue onyx becomes a busy repeating pattern; at 60x120cm it reads as a single slab, which is the difference between a feature wall that looks quarried and one that looks printed.

Where it works

Feature walls behind a bath or basin, shower enclosures, media walls, fireplace surrounds and cloakrooms. Blue onyx is at its best used on one or two surfaces with quieter finishes around it — and it is a natural partner for brass, aged gold and warm timber.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I use it on every wall?
Usually not. One wall in blue onyx with a plain white or beige tile elsewhere gives you the drama without the room closing in. Floor-to-ceiling on all four walls works only in a large, well-lit space.

Will the veining line up between tiles?
Not book-matched, but the pattern is designed to flow across a run. Lay tiles out dry first and choose the order — ten minutes of planning is what separates a slab-like wall from an obvious repeat.

How many boxes do I need?
Each box holds 2 tiles and covers 1.44m². Add 10% to your measured area for cuts before dividing.

What grout colour?
A mid-to-dark grey or a matching blue-grey. White grout draws a bright grid across the veining and undoes the seamless effect you are paying for at this size.

Yes, most of our porcelain and ceramic tiles are suitable for underfloor heating. Please check the 'Product Details' tab for specific confirmation on this product.
Do I need to seal these tiles?
Porcelain and glazed ceramic tiles do not require sealing. Natural stone and some unglazed tiles may require sealing before and after grouting.
